“INTELLIGENT/MACRO/MICRO/SUSTAINABLE/SMARTER GRIDS:
CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES” IS THE CONFERENCE
TITLE THAT DR GONZALEZ-LONGATT HAS PRESENTED AT
EXPOELEC AND
CONGRESO DE INSTALACIONES ELECTRICAS/CONGRESS OF
ELECTRIC INSTALLATIONS
13th
October 2010, Caracas-Venezuela

“Intelligent/Macro/Micro/Sustainable/Smarter Grids:
Challenges and Opportunities” is the conference
title that Dr Gonzalez-Longatt has presented at
EXPOELEC and
Congreso de Instalaciones Electricas/Congress of
Electric Installations, 13-16 October 2010,
Caracas, Venezuela.

Electric power and energy systems of today are
undergoing major changes in how they are evolving in
their structure and how they are competing to meet
the load demand. The centralized and vertical grid
model based on electromechanical components, will be
substituted by distributed and unbundled model with
digitalized components.
Generation, control and measurement will suffer
changes and impacts with this new model.
This presentation was a formidable opportunity to
show modern and important concepts that are involved
in the new paradigm of power utilities.
High level attendants provided an amazing
opportunity to share experiences and discuss about
the future impact of smart grid concept into the
Venezuelan power system.
